Luke is 5 Months Old

Luke the Duke is 5 months old! I think he was feeling a little under the weather while we were taking his pictures. He wasn't his normal smiley self! But, we proceeded and captured his more serious side!

This has been a big month for the Duke developmentally. He found his hands and thinks they are absolutely fantastic! He looks at them with amazement, thinks they taste yummy, and has realized they can actually hold objects! He loves holding toys, rattles, and especially Mommy and Sissy's hair!

He also started to roll this month! Sissy and I watched him take his first roll! We hooted and hollered and cheered the little guy on! He used all his power to kick, kick, kick his way over onto his belly! Although a bit shocked at first, he eventually gave us that famous Luke smile! With his new talent, brings some wakeful nights! He often finds himself rolled over onto his tummy and DOES NOT want to sleep that way! They only problem is that he can't roll back! Therefore, he screams bloody murder until he is rescued by Mommy or Daddy!

Sleep---- Luke is a great napper! He takes 3 naps a day (usually around 9:00, 12:00, and 4:00). He isn't awake more than 2 hours at a time; it's as if he has some crazy internal clock! His bedtime is usually around 7:00 pm. From that point, we've lost all consistency. Some nights he's up at midnight, while others he sleeps until 4 or 5. I TRY to only feed him once and we've let him "cry it out" multiple times.  Hopefully... we will soon have a baby that goes back to sleeping 7-6! We can only hope!

Eating--- Luke still LOVES to eat! He is mostly still on a breastmilk diet. However, he gets a bottle every night before bed. Sometimes it's breastmilk and sometimes it's formula. He's completely indifferent.  Next month, we'll be starting cereal!

Luke LOVES his sissy! He can be completely straight-faced, she walks in the room and he grins ear-to-ear! She hugs, kisses, and mauls him and he just grins away! How long do you think that will last?
