Pure Michigan. Pure Fun.

This weekend we vacationed in St. Joseph, Michigan with the entire Veneris clan (about 25 people!).  I was more than worried about staying with the two kids in a 2 room hotel room!  But... I must admit they did fantastic!! Mya was on cloud 9 the ENTIRE weekend! She had a full tank of energy the entire weekend, but finally hit empty on the carride home!

We got to Michigan Friday afternoon.   We unpacked and headed out to dinner with the entire group!  The kids did surprisingly well considering it was a loooooong sit-down dinner.  Bedtime Friday evening was pretty easy with neither kid fighting the process!  Matt and I even got to enjoy a few cocktails while Grandma Diane stayed in the room with 2 sleeping babies!

Saturday, Mya woke up bright and early!  She had slept in the bedroom with 2 double beds.  Mya was in one while Daddy was in the other.  Matt told me she was up between 3-4am (which is extremely rare for her) and kept sitting up and staring at him.  When I asked her why she said, "There was a dog in the room!"  Hmmmm.... perhaps a snoring dog (AKA Daddy!).  Luke and I slept in the living room.  He did great... sticking to his 9-6 sleep schedule!  After getting dressed and eating breakfast, we headed to the beach!  Mya was a little timid at first but ended up loving it!  From there we headed to lunch, ice cream, some fun on the carousel, pizza at Joy's house, sliding on an awesome slide, and then finally.... back to the room for some much needed rest!!!!

Overall, it was a great weekend with a great family!
I have so much admiration for the closeness of Matt's family!  Thanks for the memories!
Our family dressed up and ready for dinner (we had a little grouch on our hands after 2 days of no nap!)
Luke... ready to hit the beach!

Daddy and Mya heading for the water
Luke and Jameson couldn't take all the fun!
Mya LOVED the waterslide at Cousin Joy's house! We didn't have her suit so she wore Quentin's undies!

I couldn't resist! She looked a little trashy with her undies as a swimsuit...
so why not add a beer to REALLY make her look white trash!?!?!
After a long day, Luke was ready for night night!

And so was Mya!

Meeting Jameson....

We finally got to meet my great-nephew (am I old enough to be a great-aunt?), Jameson.  Luke is almost 1 month older than Jameson.  It's difficult to tell in the pictures, but Luke looked enormous next to Jameson!

Mya thought she was hotstuff holding both babies!

2 Months... Mr. Perfect!

My little man is already 2 months old!  Yesterday, we went to Dr. Brown's office for his check-up and shots.  They were immediately calling him a moose and couldn't believe how big he was!  Luke spends most of the day sleeping, but when his gorgeous baby blues are open, he's usually smiling!  I hate to actually say (or write) the words, but he is almost the PERFECT baby! He sleeps well, eats well, and hardly ever cries!!! I am very, very lucky!!!

Some Stats:
Weight= 13 lbs. 6 oz. (90%)
Height= 24.75 in (95%)
Head circumference= 39.2 cm (70%)

So far, bedtime is a piece of cake!  We head upstairs at 9:00 for our nightly routine of changing his diaper, putting on pjs and sleepsack, and eating.  Then, with a little swaying, he's out!  Yesterday, I moved him into his own room for the first time at night.  I felt lonely and a bit sad!  But, he did great!  He slept from 9:30-6:00am!!!! After a quick 6 am snack, he was back to bed until 8:00am! I am a lucky momma!!!

This was a fun little photoshoot!  It was SO easy to get him to smile!  He loves the camera... and his silly sissy making faces behind the camera!

Tummy Time

This little guy is so stinkin' strong!  He's basically been able to hold his head up since the day he was born!
But, we're still putting in our daily tummy time!

No ifs, ands, or BUTTS....

Mya always has a great time with the Korman Girls!  Drawing on the bathtub wall while standing in bright yelllow bath water... So much fun!!!

Band-aids

CHOPPED

Mya got her hair C-H-O-P-P-E-D!

She tried to work her new do in a mini-photo shoot just for fun!
We're not sure we are big fans, but it's only hair, right?!?

Little Slice of Heaven

Matt and I spent our 6 year anniversary doing one of the things we enjoy most in the world!  We were lucky enough to be invited by Matt's brother, Andy, to go boating!  We had already planned on having Matt's Mom babysit in the afternoon so we could have some "us" time.  This was a perfect way to spend the morning before we celebrated our marriage.  The day was gorgeous, just as it was 6 years ago!  The sun was shining and the skies were clear! Absolute PERFECTION!

Not the best picture, but the only one I had on my computer! ;-)  I think we look so young (and skinny!)
6 Years and 2 Kids Later..... A little older, a little heavier... but still having fun together!
Boating on the Chain o' Lakes:
Mya LOVED every minute of it! I think she may be our dare devil!

Luke slept the ENTIRE time!

Mya kept requesting to go fast!

Red, White, and the Blues....

Unfortunately, we had to keep things a little more low-key this year for the Fourth of July.  Typically, we like to celebrate my favorite holiday with lots friends, food, and fun! But, we are still adjusting to life with 2 little ones! Matt and I both commented that it didn't really seem like the 4th of July!

We spent some time at Grandma's house and had a mini get together with a few friends.

I definitely FAILED as a photographer this weekend..... here are just a few pictures.
