I was busy, busy, busy while the kiddos napped today! Check out the latest 3 posts!

Day to Himself

For Mother's Day and Father's Day, Matt and I present eachother with one of the best gifts of all.... a day to ourselves! Trust that we absolutely ADORE our kids, but we also long for a day of no poopy diapers.... no whining, screaming, or sniffling..... no curious toddler asking a zillion questions.... and no newborn wanting to be held.

Today was Matt's Father's Day "Day to Himself."  We dropped him off this morning in the city to spend the day with his buddies! Mommy, Mya, and Luke had the rest of the day to play!  It was gorgeous outside so we decided to hit the Long Grove Strawberry Fest! I didn't take many pictures.  It was pretty hot and crowded and manuevering the double stroller through the crowded streets was quite a task!  I had promised Mya that we could get her face painted.  Unfortunately the line was long and there was only 1 face painter!  We opted for an airbrush tattoo instead.  Luckily, she thought it was just as great!  Oh, the simplicity of a 2 year old!

Mya and Kylie Loving the Summer

Mya and her buddy, Kylie, have been having a blast together this summer!  We've gone to the racetrack, the spray park, Chuck E. Cheese, and even the Wauconda Fest!

SMILE!

Just when I was starting to feel unloved and unappreciated, he pulled this trick out of his hat!
He SMILED!

I thought it was a fluke! But, the sillier I got, the more smiles he gave!
Luckily, I had my phone next to me to capture the moment!

This awesome mobile (IKEA) kept Luke entertained and smiling for awhile!

And some serious shots... just because he's cute!

Lucas Matthew: 1 Month

Our little man turned 1 month old on June 16th!  I'd like to say time flies when you're having fun... but actually I am tired, tired, tired!  It's hard to believe that I've gone 4 weeks with very little sleep!
BUT... enough about me....

Luke still doesn't really do much!  He spends most of his days sleeping with a frequent explosion-like poop!  He LOVES to eat and keeps Mommy tied down throughout the day by being his sole supplier of nutrition!  However, Matt does give him the occasional bottle of formula. We decided to do things a little differently this time around to try to avoid him NOT taking the bottle like Mya did!  He seems to like formula just fine!

As far as sleep, well.... let's just say he prefers to sleep during the day and party like a rockstar at night! I am TRYING desperately to teach him the difference between day and night!  Just when I think we are achieving something, we have a terrible night!  At this point, a good night is basically us both going to bed at 10pm and sleeping until 2:30ish.  He usually feeds for about 15 minutes and goes back to bed until around 6ish.  That is a fabulous night for us!  However, other nights he may be up every 1.5-2 hours! That makes for a rough next day!

Luke doesn't play just yet.  However, he does seem to be thoroughly entertained by his Sissy! He lets her poke, kiss, hug, change, and sing to him! He is tracking with his eyes and smiles with his pouty little lips (involuntarily, I know!) He seems to have a pretty passive demeanor.... so far!

It was a challenge to get good pictures of this little guy! Here's the best I could do!

The Farm

We went to my parents' house again this weekend to see my BFF visiting from Austin, TX and to celebrate Father's Day with my Dad on Saturday.  We went out and about and I had a great time "playing" with my camera.  I took about 200 pictures... here are a "few!"

NOW we're having fun!

Mimi and Papa's Pool-
She was so brave on the first day... and a TOTAL wimp on the second day!
Panic set in....

SUCH a Mya look!

Papa showed us the horses, sheep/lambs, and goats/kids!

Admiring the land.   You don't see this in Chicago.

Double the Fun

We survived!  Mommy took Mya and Luke out shopping TOGETHER for the first time and we survived!  It took us about 3 hours to get dressed, fed, (napped...Luke), diapers changed, snacks packed, and out the door to spend all of about 20 minutes at Old Navy.  I intended on making more than just the one stop, but after taking a survey (with Mya) she requested we go back home!  I must admit, after our little shopping adventure, I was ready to head home too... I'm EXHAUSTED!
Double stroller... double the fun!
Mya tried her best to get out, but a new rule was being enforced... once you're in.... your're IN! :-)

Lacrosse Tournament

We spent our afternoon watching our nephews, Drew and Ben, play lacrosse. Lucky for us, the tournament was at Lake Zurich High School which is just minutes from our house.  The entire Wiegman family was at the tournament cheering on the boys.  The interaction between "My My" and "Twen Twen" was PRICELESS! They are absolutely hilarious... I mean adorable!

One can only imagine the conversation these two were having!
After the tournament, we headed to our house to play and have dinner.
