Sunday's Sessions

I had 2 photo sessions on Sunday... I was both nervous and excited to use my new camera! I've been practicing a bit with it but really sat down and studied my user's manual the night before.  I can honestly say that I've NEVER read an entire user's manual in my entire life! I do feel like I actually learned a lot from my study session but was SUPER nervous to put my new knowledge to work!

I once remember my photographer saying how annoying it is when people say, "Wow, your pictures are great! You must have a great camera!"  Believe it or not, there is a LOT that goes into taking a picture.  Believe me, I once thought good camera = good pictures.  I now know there is one more very important detail... the photographer.  good camera + good photographer = good pictures.

I know I have a good camera... I know I have some good pictures... could that possibly mean I'm BECOMING a good photographer???  I still have lots to learn but I'm having some fun... AND making some money doing it!

Pass the word on to anyone that wants some CHEAP pictures taken! I don't have a fancy indoor studio yet and Old Man Winter is quickly approaching. So, we may have to wait for spring to arrive before doing too many more outdoor sessions.

Until then, I will keep practicing, take some classes, and maybe think of a name for my blooming business?  ANY IDEAS???

Ready, Set, BLOG!

So I've taken a bit of a hiatus from blogging! We've been super busy and I just haven't had the time or motivation to blog! While bathing the kids last night, I was looking through my phone's pictures and realized I've taken lots and lots of pictures but haven't blogged about anything lately!  So, here are lots and lots of pictures of our daily doings!

Keep in mind they aren't the best quality of pictures but they definitely capture what we are doing in the moment.

Mya has really been into learning new things lately. Here she is working on her numbers.

Library Time: We love spending time at the library!

This was the book Mya chose to check-out.  "A Tale of Two Mommies"
Not exactly a conversation I thought I'd already be having with my 4 year old BUT it is life and I want her to be aware and accepting of ALL people and ALL relationships.  We ended up having a great conversation about it!

LuLu loves the puzzles and toys at the library!

Sports Class: Mya is in "Intro to Sports" class.  She meets with her class weekly and they work on a different sport.  Our first class was rough...as in she cried hysterically and refused to participate (her buddy Aiden was absent that day.) I was horrified and furious at her! After lecturing her the ENTIRE way home, I told her that I was cutting up ALL her pacifiers! Note: She was turning 4 five days later and knew they were disappearing anyway. Also note, I KNOW it's ridiculous that she still had a pacifier to sleep... but listen, it just wasn't a battle I was wanting to fight! Don't judge.

Happy as can be BEFORE class.

Bye Bye pacifiers! One night without it and she kicked the habit! YAY!

Sibling LOVE: LuLu LOVES his Sissy and Sissy LOVES her Lulu!

Guess who took this picture??? Mya! Not too bad!
McDonalds: The kiddos LOVE to go to McDonalds to play! Lukey can finally play too!

Madonna!!! Brittany and I had a girl's night out to see none other than THE Madonna! We took the train from Glenview to the city, stopped at a nearby bar, and then headed to see Madonna! Luckily we got word that the opening act was horrible and she didn't go on until after 10pm! We spent extra time at the bar ;-) and then headed to the concert.  It was a pretty disappointing show but we still had a blast.  The night ended with our towncar not showing up and a homeless man harrassing me with a rap he was making up about me.  Thank you Mr. Officer for getting him away from me! ;-)

We took a rick-a-shaw to the show! This seems to be Brittany and my thing! We love a good rick-a-shaw!

The Show- We were literally in the LAST row at the United Center...but dead center!

Shots!
We took Mya to the allergist to get her flu shots.  It's always a loooooong appointment because we have to wait to make sure she doesn't have a reaction. Luke was introduced to suckers at the dr. office. He loves them.
Park: We've been trying to make the most of the last few nice days before Old Man Winter arrives.

Playdate: Mya has a new little friend from Preschool, Kylie. We love having playdates together!

The girls in the baby section at The Treehouse

Not sure what I was thinking here... I took the girls for Dairy Queen and let them have their cones in the car. I looked in the rearview mirror and panicked!!! I quickly pulled over and decided we would tailgate in the VFW parking lot!

Mommy and Mya time!

Sometimes it's good to have a little girl time! I took Mya to the Long Grove Apple Festival. We met up with my cousin and his family. Here's our self portait!

Daddy's Birthday!
We found an AWESOME egg-free cupcake recipe that's SO easy and SO delicious! Mya finally gets to enjoy!

Happy Birthday to the BEST daddy around!

HOHOHO! Christmas in October! It's consignment time!

Got some AWESOME things for Luke this time around!

And some cute stuff for Mya too! (sorry sideways!)
Pumpkin Patch at Messiah: Mya's preschool has their own pumpkin patch this year. Her class had a "field trip" on Friday.
Bundled up for the Pumpkin Patch

Mya and Kylie listening to their teacher read a story. Brrrrr.

Luke exploring the pumpkins!

Mimi and Papa's House:  The kids and I headed to the farm while Matt was with his buddies in Vegas.  We always have a great time there!

Lukey being a silly boy in between the screen and frontdoor! He thought he was SO funny!
Girls' Night Out! My BFF was in town from Austin, TX. She invited us over to her parent's sheep farm (us farmgirls stick together!) for a weiny roast/smores! The kiddos had a BLAST! More pics to come!

After the weiny roast, I went out for some dinner and cocktails with 2 of my oldest friends! Sarah is my BFF from Texas and Heather and I were Best Friends in Preschool and then great friends in elementary and middle school! Love spending time with these dear friends!
