Sending a Letter

Mya's letter, the envelope (I blacked out the recipient...wouldn't want to spoil the surprise!), and a letter explaining from me

Yesterday, Mya was searching for something to do after naptime. She pulled out her markers, stickers, and paper and wanted to color.  I had remembered seeing a cute idea on one of the many blogs I read of these Super Moms that have idea after idea to keep their little ones busy.

Activity: Pick a person and send a letter

I pulled out my address book and told Mya to pick out any person in the book (TRUST ME... I crossed my fingers that she wouldn't pick a long lost friend, old flame, or family member that is on my sh*t list. No worries, I was ready to "fib" to my little non-reader!). Luckily, she picked out a family very special to us.  In fact, it happens to be someone that I know reads this blog! ;-) So, she drew a very special picture and strategically placed stickers. She even signed her name.  I told her we were going to mail the letter and she was so excited! She folded the letter all by herself (even licking it shut... she was a little confused that the letter was actually the envelope!). I got out an envelope and explained the address of our recipient.  SHE wrote her name for the return address, stamped the envelope, and put it into the mailbox!

We can't wait to hear when the letter arrives at our special family's house! Mya is HOPING for a return letter in the mail addressed to her! ;-) hint..hint..
