Double the Fun

We survived!  Mommy took Mya and Luke out shopping TOGETHER for the first time and we survived!  It took us about 3 hours to get dressed, fed, (napped...Luke), diapers changed, snacks packed, and out the door to spend all of about 20 minutes at Old Navy.  I intended on making more than just the one stop, but after taking a survey (with Mya) she requested we go back home!  I must admit, after our little shopping adventure, I was ready to head home too... I'm EXHAUSTED!

Lacrosse Tournament

We spent our afternoon watching our nephews, Drew and Ben, play lacrosse. Lucky for us, the tournament was at Lake Zurich High School which is just minutes from our house.  The entire Wiegman family was at the tournament cheering on the boys.  The interaction between "My My" and "Twen Twen" was PRICELESS! They are absolutely hilarious... I mean adorable!

One can only imagine the conversation these two were having!

After the tournament, we headed to our house to play and have dinner. 

 

Riding Rico

After a few days in Lake Zurich with my sisters' family, we all headed down to Funk's Grove for the remainder of the week!  I should've known Papa wouldn't disappoint... within minutes of our arrival, he had one of our horses, Rico, saddled up and ready to give the kids rides.  Mya was too scared to ride at first.  But, after watching her cousins, she decided that she could in fact ride too!  However, riding alone wasn't in her cards. Once Cici got on, Mya was much more at ease!

We have been SO lucky to have had almost full-time help since Luke was born. My Mom (and friend, Martha) during week 1, Matt's Mom during week 2, and My Sister (plus family) during week 3, have all helped us adjust to becoming a family of 4! They definitely made the transition a bit smoother!

Mimi, Mya, and Luke- Mimi was surrogate Mom to Mya the entire week of Luke's birth. 
I'm pretty sure Mya didn't even notice I was gone!



Grandma came to meet her new Grandson in the hospital.  She also visited us the next week. Mya LOVED spending time with Grandma!  They went to the park, the library, and even had a special lunchdate! Thanks Grandma!

Week 3- The Kuehl's came to visit!!! Mya had a BLAST with her cousins!!! It was nice to have my sister (the baby whisperer) help with Luke and the kids entertain Mya!  I miss, miss, miss having them live close!  :-(

We went to Lindy's restaurant for dinner one evening.  The weather was gorgeous! The kids were able to play in the sand while we waited for our dinner! Mommy enjoyed her first beer! ;-)

Spray Park with Friends

Today we had a playdate with the twins!!! Mya has really been missing the girls so she was VERY excited for our playdate at Paulus Spray Park!

Day at the Ballpark

Last weekend, Matt and Mya had a very special date planned!  Because Matt is a Cubs Season Ticket Holder, he was able to participate in the Fan Appreciation Days hosted by the Cubs.  He invited Mya, his brother, and two nephews for a fun day at the ballpark! They were able to explore the entire stadium.  They played catch on the ballfield, sat in the dugout, and toured the lockerroom!

Mya cooled off with an Italian Ice.  It was a VERY hot day!

Muy Loco!

So.....life with 2 little kiddos is MUY LOCO (very crazy)!!! If I'm not changing or feeding Luke or playing with or answering the 1000 questions asked daily by Mya, then I'm TRYING to catch-up on sleep!   Forget about doing laundry, dishes, or cleaning... that simply gets put on the back burner!  Needless to say, blogging has become less and less of a priority these days! However, I do want to give Luke the memories that I've given Mya! I promised myself (and second born) that I would take just as many pictures and blog just as much!  SO... as soon as I can catch a breath... I will continue documenting the crazy moments we experience as a family of 4! 

For now... just a few "memorable" pics from our last couple of weeks! 

Mya has been an AMAZING big sis!  She loves, loves, loves her brother!  She is my little assistant. She could probably change and dress him on her own if I allowed it!  She even insists on "wiping his butt!" Luke is starting to really track with his eyes.  You can tell that his Sissy really grabs his attention!  

Not a big fan of bathtime!  It was really just a spongebath too! I can hardly wait for his "real" bathtime...NOT!

I had to save this picture for last!  This morning when I was feeding Luke, Mya climbed up on the bed with her baby, unzipped her pajamas, and began feeding him.  Although a bit disturbing, it was really kind of sweet.  She told me she was feeding her baby just like Mommy fed baby brother!
