There definitely hasn't been a shortage of snow this winter! So, we decided to make the most of it. We bundled Little Miss Mya up and let her at it! I thought she would be a big wimp, but she loved it! In fact, she screamed when I brought her inside and screamed all of the way to the grocery store. I was freezing and she was having a blast! I promised her we could go play with her cousins after her nap. She held me to it! Luckily, they like playing in the snow too!
Mya is bundled up and ready to go!

Blizzard Boredom
Today was yet ANOTHER day of being held up in our house due to SNOW! We are expected to get even more snow tonight and tomorrow. I prefer to not be out and about on the roads in these conditions. But, that means we are pretty much stuck inside all day. Mya is really good about playing and running around the house entertaining herself. However, eventually she gets restless and whiny. I have to be creative about what to do with her that will keep her entertained. I guess you could say blizzards cause creativity! Here's some things we did to cure our BLIZZARD BOREDOM!

Mya helped Mommy with a new banana bread recipe. Her job....the banana masher!
Mya has recently been very interested in Mommy and Daddy going potty. You often hear the little pitter patter of her tiny feet running towards the bathroom so that she doesn't miss the opportunity to flush. Today, she tried to sit on my lap. So I thought, when better to introduce her to her very own potty? I put the toddler potty in her bathroom and she was instantly amazed! She practiced going potty before bath....and after! She doesn't quite get that she has to GO to the bathroom, but she was very proud of herself for sitting on it. We clapped and cheered in excitement! I don't think she's quite ready for potty-training, but we sure are enjoying pretending!
Mya is also very fond of brushing her teeth. She begs to brush and loves watching herself brush in the mirror.
Bathtime is probably her least favorite part of bedtime routine. She is just too anxious to go potty and brush...again!
One more try at the potty! I thought it was hilarious that she held her hands together. It looks like she is "thinking." Note she is soaking wet. She ran to the potty before I could wrap her in her towel!

Visiting Mimi and Papa
Mya and I made another trip to the farm to visit Mimi and Papa. We always have such a great time playing and visiting everyone. Mimi Rey always has SO many things for Mya to play with! She even bought her a new stroller for her babies (more about her baby obsession in a later post)! We were also able to visit Mya's Great-Grandpa Bob, Great-Grandma Laurel, and Ben, Kristy, and Izzy! Mya was able to make a few new friends, too!
Mimi Rey lined up all of my old stuffed animals for Mya to play with. These quickly became her new friends!
Tea Party anyone?
Mya pushes her baby in the new stroller Mimi bought her. She LOVES it!!!!!
Of course the bears need a ride, too!
Mya is now eating with a fork like a big girl!

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow
BEFORE
Today Matt and I took Mya to get her first haircut. I don't know why, but it has been something I have been dreading for weeks. I think it was a mixture of not wanting to admit my baby was growing up and not being quite sure what the final outcome would look like. I'm not a big fan of little girls with the infamous mullet. You know, business in front and party in back. I feared her haircut would look horrendous, and we'd be stuck with a 1980's rockstar for awhile.
But, the truth is, she really needed a haircut months ago. She has closely resembled Jon Bon Jovi for awhile now. I tried to trim it myself a few times. I think I did ok... not great. It was definitely a challenge with her wiggling around and trying to grab the scissors. But, we decided it was time to get her a real haircut done by a "professional." We decided to take her to Cartoon Cuts. It really is a genius idea. TVs in front of each station with cartoons playing, bright colored tables and chairs, a giant green elephant at the shampoo station, and free junky rewards at the end of the haircut keep the kids entertained.
I have heard horror stories about the littles ones screaming during their haircuts. Knowing Mya couldn't care less about the cartoons, I went supplied with her favorite fruit strips. She got a little nervous when the chair began to raise, but other than that she was a champ. The fruit strips worked miracles! She sat pretty still while getting her hair done. Honestly, it doesn't look much different. Now she just has a "shaped" mullet! Babysteps I guess! Overall it was a fairly fun experience. She even got pink glitter in her hair, a baggy of her hair, AND a first haircut certificate!

Baby Love
Mya loves her babies!
Mya has a new deep love for her babydolls! She takes them everywhere and plays with them all day! I love that she is so into dolls. I think all mommies look forward to this stage with their little girls!
Lucky for Mya, her cousin Carly has lots of AWESOME toys she is willing to pass down to Mya! This is just one of the cool things Mya can been gifted! This is a giant dollhouse. It even has an elevator! As of now, it is in our kitchen. Doesn't exactly go with the decor, but it definitely keeps her entertained while I cook and clean!
