Brittany, Kristy, and Me

The Girls at Peggy Kinnane's
Am I really 30? I feel like I just celebrated my 21st birthday at the Pub II. How did this happen? When did I get so old? And why is it that I woke up on my birthday with aches and pains? Does getting old really hit you that quickly?
Last night I celebrated my 30th birthday with friends and family. It was my first night "out" since having Mya. I was so excited to have some drinks and let loose, but I was also a nervous wreck to leave Mya. I knew she was in good hands with my sister but couldn't help but think of all the "what ifs." It didn't help matters that a winter storm hit about 20 minutes before she came to pick her up. WHAT IF they get into an accident in the snow? WHAT IF she gets too cold? I then got a phone call from her saying she may keep her all night at her house and "do I think she had a enough milk?" Immediately I started feeling the tingling sensation and instant lactation! Oh no.... this is not good for a momma about to go out in her "bar gear!" Thank goodness for bra pads and breast pumps! All I kept thinking for the next couple hours was WHAT IF I had left my baby to starve while I was getting drunk! How selfish was I?
Ok, so after doing the hand-off of Mya to my sister we were left to wait for our cab at our house. Matt had called in the morning to make SURE we had a mini-van cab for the 8 of us and that it would be at our house at 5:45 SHARP. We didn't want any hang-ups on getting started on our night (I had a midnight curfew and didn't want to waste a single minute of adult time!)! Sure enough.... the cab was 20 minuted late and yep.... no mini-van! After a few "words" with the cab driver (of course his English was limited...figures!) we decided to split up and Kristy would drive to the bar and we would leave it overnight. The rest of us took the cab (may I also add that the cabbie insisted on having the window down. Hello??? Its a blizzard out, 20 degrees, and my toes are numb!) Finally.... we made it!
Dinner and drinks were outstanding and we had a blast catching up! I only checked in once and was able to enjoy myself. Amazing how conversation always seems to revert back to babies though! Oh, how times have changed! We made it back to LZ safe and sound! I think we got stiffed by the cabbie though....100 bucks from Arlington Heights...really???
Anyway, thank you...thank you... thank you.... friends and family for such a great night! Thank you to my sister and family for taking care of my little missy. She was in good hands and my WHAT IFS were just that!
I can't wait to experience my 30's.... I hear they are the new 20's!
I couldn't resist adding this photo.... This was the morning after my 30th! Matt and Mya have the same hairdo!Last night I celebrated my 30th birthday with friends and family.
