Mother's Day Getaway

This year for Mother's Day weekend, my friend Brittany and I headed to Ft. Lauderdale beach for a Mother's Day Getaway. No Babies.... No Boys!
I left our house on Friday morning at 3:15 am and headed to Glenview to catch a cab with Brittany to O'hare. We departed cold, rainy Chicago at 6:40 am and arrived in hot, sunny Ft. Lauderdale at 10:30 am. We spent the day relaxing, sunbathing, drinking, and talking... with NO INTERRUPTIONS!!! We had big plans to party like rockstars that night. We took the water taxi to a great seafood restaurant on the Intracoastal. We enjoyed a yummy dinner, a few drinks, and then decided we were exhausted!!! After a brief moment of guilt about being lame-o's we decided, WHO CARES??? We were both in bed and asleep by 10ish! It was FANTASTIC!
We slept in until 9:00 the next morning! That's about 11 hours of sleep! Amazing!!! The next day also consisted of relaxing, sunbathing, drinking, and talking! We were a bit more of "partyers" on our second night! We had a blast but knew we had to catch an early flight back to reality in the morning!

I think we would both agree that this was a much needed vacation from our crazy lives! But, I also think we would both agree that we missed our crazy lives a lot too! A BIG THANK YOU to our wonderful husbands (and a very special Grandma too!) that watched our girls while we were in paradise!

Night 1: Headed to the water taxi stop! Guess being cute moms pays off.... we got free tickets from the captain! (Saved us $30!)

On the water-taxi headed down the Intracoastal. We took a rickshaw back to our hotel. It was awesome!Riding on our rickshaw! It was a crazy ride!
